Funeral services for Gilbert Emil ?Uncle Bubba? Otto, 80, of Bay City will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow 1 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia Cemetery in Houston. Mr. Otto was born Oct. 17, 1910, to Ferdinand August Otto and Dorothy Louise Richers Otto in Houston and died June 24, 1991, at the Coffer Residence on Farm Road 3156. A resident of Bay City since 1940, he was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2438 in Bay City. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II in the 375th fighter squadron in the European theater. He is survived by a sister, Beatrice Regina Otto Kring of Houston; four nieces, Judy Kring Beirwirth, Patty Kring Hall, Peggy Kring White and Betty Kring Coffer; three nephews, William Bierwirth, Terry Hall and Bruce Coffer, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Malcom ?Sonny? Otto; and a sister, Louise Pauline Otto Beck. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers funeral Home, Bay City.
