A Surprise Wedding
The marriage of Miss Avery Nikel to C. G. Amberg Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o?clock, came somewhat as a surprise to the many friends of this popular young couple. The wedding took place at the home of the bride?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Nikel in the presence of only immediate relatives, Rev. R. Heise officiating. Miss Avery is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Nikel, an admirable young lady, and Clinton Amberg is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Amberg of this city, a steady and industrious young man, with a promising future. The young couple took the afternoon train for Houston, their future home. May God?s choicest blessings be showered upon this happy young couple, is the sincere wish of the Journal.
