Graveside services for Bryan Richers, 55, of Bay City will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck. Mr. Richers was born April 15, 1932, in Bay City to Alfred Charles and Frances Opal Taylor Richers and died Dec. 31, 1987, at Veterans Hospital, Houston. A lifelong resident of Bay City, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include three brothers, Charles G. Richers and Victor E. Richers, both of Bay City, and John Wesley Richers of Kilgore, Texas. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City. [Matagorda County Newspaper, ca January 1988]

Richers, Alfred C., age 80, passed away on November 19 in Matagorda General Hospital. He was a native of La Grange, Tex. but had been a resident of Bay City for 63 years. Mr. Richers was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Oddfellows and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by widow, Mrs. Frances Taylor Richers, and five sons: Alfred Bryan, John Wesley, Gus Clifton, Charles George and Victor Eugene, all of Bay City; also, one sister, Mrs. Frances Hunger of Austin, and one brother, L. W. Richers, Sr. of Bay City. He also had 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be in Taylor Brothers Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. The Reverend W. D. O�Neal will officiate and interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Burton Lee Bates, Bill Fehmel, Jimmy Shawler, Gilbert Otto, James Cheatham and James Wagnor. Gus Richers Rites Held Monday at 2

Funeral services for Gus Richers, a La Grange native were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Marrs-Dean Funeral Home chapel in Smithville, and interment was in the Flatonia City Cemetery. Mr. Richers, who would have been 81 on the last day of the year, passed away Sunday morning at the Smithville Hospital. He was born at La Grange on Dec. 31, 1887, in a family of 13 children, and was united in marriage with Miss Alma Hillmann. A retired oil scout, Mr. Richers and his wife had lived at Bay City, Flatonia, Schulenburg, Houston, and New Braunfels. Surviving are his wife; one sister, Mrs. F. W. Hunger of La Grange; and two brothers, Louis Richers and Alfred Richers, both of Bay City. [Fayette County Record, Tuesday, October 8, 1968]

Funeral services fro Cheryl Lynn Richers, 16, of Saugerties, N.Y., were held Tuesday at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Saugerties, with the Rev. William Sacher and the Rev. Bob Richers, uncle of the deceased officiating. Burial was in Saugerties. Miss Richers was born Feb. 26, 1969, in Manhatten, Kan., died Dec. 7, 1985, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Saugerties. She was a junior at Saugerties Senior High School where she lettered in basketball, volleyball and softball, was a member of the high school band and yearbook staff. Survivors include her parents, Louis W. and Beverly A. Richers III of Saugerties; a brother, Randall L. Richers of Saugerties; a sister, Karen L. Richers of Saugerties; paternal grandparents, L. W. and Essie Richers of Bay City; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Betty Duncan of Houston, and three uncles. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Saugerties Senior High School physical education scholarship fund, in care of Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, 45 John St., Saugerties, N.Y., 12477. Richers, Emil Eugene (b. 25 JAN 1928, d. 07 NOV 1995)

Emil E. �Otto� Richers, 67, of Bay City passed away November 7, 1995 at Matagorda House in Bay City.
He was born January 25, 1928 in Bay City to Louis William Richers, Sr. and Julia Wilhemina Letzerich Richers. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, The Toast Masters Club both in Pennsylvania and Greenville, Texas. He was a 1945 graduate of Bay City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 and then attended Texas A&M graduating in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. From July 1952 to September 1953 he served in the U.S. Army as Officer-In-Charge of the Electronic Warfare School in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey and was honorably discharged as 2nd Lt.. In October 1953 he started his career with HRB-Singer, Inc., Aerospace and Marine Systems Division of the Singer Company where he remained until 1972. Through those years his career took him all over the world as an Electrical Engineer. In 1972 he became Staff Engineer in the Advanced Systems Directorate of the Greenville Division at E Systems in Greenveille, Texas. He was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 1977 and ended his career on July 9, 1979. He remained in Greenville until January 1986 when he moved back to Bay City to be near his family and friends. He is survived by two step-sons and their wives, Kelly and Linda Richers of Bakersfield, California and Kenny and Linda Richers of Penn Laird, Virginia; by six sisters, Elviera Cernosek of San Antonio, Genevieve Gaudet of Acampo, California, Julia Marie O�Roark and her husband, Jerry, of Dallas, Sybella Green and her husband, Marvin, of Bay City, Lilly Carr of Bay City and Antoinette Rogers of Bay City; by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Victoria Richers of Vina del Mar, Chile, South America, and Sherwood and Judy Richers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; by three stepgrandchildren, Katherine Richers of Bakersfield, California, and Lance and Shane Richers both of Penn Laird, Virginia; and by a number of nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 1995 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 1995 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Msgr. James Bruner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers include, Dr. Joe Lawhon, Scott Lawhon, Peter Green, Douglas Green, Kirk Carr, and Ryan Carr. In lieu of the usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic School Foundation, 2200 Ave. F, Suite 107, Bay City, TX 77414-5017. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Note: Pioneer Resident Passes Away At 91

Mrs. Emma Kehrer, 91, of 2705 6th Street, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Matagorda General Hospital. She had been a resident of Bay City for 66 years. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Dr. A.T. Dyal officiating. Interment will be in Cedarvale. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. P.J. Reeves, Sr., and Mrs. Otis Russell, both of Bay City, seven grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Kehrer of Bay City, Mrs. Louise Otto of Houston, and Mrs. Frances Hunger of Austin; four brothers, Louis Richers and Fred Richers, both of Bay City, Gus Richers of Smithville, and Victor Richers of Shiner. Remembering Genevieve Gaudet

Genevieve Gaudet, 90, passed away November 13, 2008. She was born November 23, 1917, in Bay City, Texas, and moved to Lodi in 1954, where she enjoyed gardening, and later working in her cherry orchard. She was a member of St. Anne�s Catholic Church in Lodi, and worked locally for Blue Goose, Supermold, Cain and Matthews law, and San Joaquin County Hospital, and later attended Sacramento State College, receiving her teaching credential in 1971. Genevieve was an excellent seamstress, sewing for herself and her children, and she loved family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, and listening to her two grand daughters play the piano. She is survived by her children, Toni (Larry) Miller, Phil (Cheri) Gaudet, Wright (April) Gaudet, all of Lodi, Andy (Linda) Gaudet of Tucson, Arizona, Debbie (Harry) Dale, of Ione, Ca, and David Gaudet of Acampo, Ca. Genevieve will also be missed by her 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and her sisters, Elvira Cernocek of San Antonio, Texas, Judy O�Roark of Dallas, Texas, and Sybella Green, Nettie Rogers, Lilly Carr, all of Bay City, Texas. Preceding her in passing are her husband of fifty years, Edward Gaudet, grandson Christopher Gaudet, brothers L.W. Richers, Otto Richers, Frank Richers, and her parents, Julia and Louis Richers. Graveside services will be held 10 am, Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Garden of Reflections, Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, Ca.
