Frances Richers Hunger
Frances Richers Hunger, age 95, of Austin and La Grange, died Friday. She was born May 18, 1892, in La Grange, Texas, the daughter of Emil Richers and Elise Huebner Richers. She received a teaching certificate by attending classes conducted in La Grange and graduated with honors from the Normal. She taught in the Fayette County Schools at Halstead and Bluff from 1911-1916. After teaching several years, she was married to Fred William Hunger who preceded her in death in September, 1963. She was active in church work, civic activities, and educational activities in La Grange, prior to moving to Austin to live with her daughter in 1961 when illness of her husband necessitated the move. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Regina H. Welge of Austin; grandson, Jack H. Welge, Jr., Longview; a granddaughter-in-law, Mrs. Ava Avent Welge, (Mrs. Jack H. Welge, Jr.); two great-grandchildren, Kirsten Welge and Kathleen Welge of Longview; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alma Richers, Smithville; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services, 1:30 PM, Sunday, Weed-Corley Funeral Home, Austin, Texas, and graveside services at 4:00 PM, Sunday at La Grange City Cemetery, La Grange, Texas. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Kosurek, Herman Jones, John T. Patterson, Roland Anderson, Charles Dent, Stephen Brougher, Homer Grubbs and Colin Bobbitt. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Giesber, a native of Germany and a resident of La Grange since 1921, were held Friday morning at 11 AM in the Koenig Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. H. T. Flachmeier in charge. Interment was made in the La Grange City Cemetery. Mrs. Giesber, 84, was born in Germany on July 30, 1872, and came to this country at the age of 14 years. Her parents, Wenzel and Mathilda Miller Richter, resided at Moulton in Lavaca County. On Aug. 14, 1904, she married Henry F. Giesber at La Grange. She is survived by her husband, Henry F. Giesber of San Marcos; two daughters, Mrs. Wm. McKellar of La Grange and Mrs. Alyne Barton of Houston; three sons, George H. Giesber and Charlie Giesber of La Grange and Henry G. She was born November 18, 1948, in Bay City, Texas, to Elmer Lawrence Rogers and Wilma Eileen Munson Rogers. She had been a resident of Houston for 35 years. She was an inventory control specialist for the New Process Steel Co. for 35 years. She is survived by: her husband, Bennie Baldwin of Houston; a daughter, Yvette Baldwin of Houston; two sons, Jerry Baldwin and Wayne Baldwin, both of Houston; her stepmother, Nettie Rogers of Bay City; three grandchildren, Kody Lee Baldwin, Deseree Baldwin and Danielle Baldwin, all of Houston; three nieces, Sherri Harvey, Jerry Machacek and husband Daniel, all of Goliad, and Pattie Strelec and husband Willie of Edna; two great-nieces, Stephanie Harvey and Ashley Strelec; great-nephews, Brian and Jason Harvey and Vance and Tyler Strelec.
