Note: A Refuge From Mexico
Otto Struve, a Fayette county boy, who has been living in Mexico for the past twelve years, in company with his wife, reached La Grange last Thursday, and will remain for a few weeks with his father, Louis Struve, and other relatives. Otto relates some very interesting, and we may also add, thrilling stories of life in land of the Aztecs at the present time, but admits that it is real pleasant to be here in the quiet for a while. He was in Vera Cruz at the time the United States marines landed, and witnessed from a safe distance of course the taking of the port. Otto was in the City of Mexico at the time President Madero was assassinated and pictures graphic scenes of the uprising in that city, and the destruction of public buildings. Mrs. Struve is a native of Mexico. [La Grange Journal, Thursday, May 7, 1914]
