Todd, Milton (b. 08 NOV 1846, d. 13 JAN 1937)
Note: He was buried at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. His family immigrated from England to Canada. His family remained in Canada. Milton's mother gave Marie a silver chocolate pot when they visited Canada when she was a young girl - to have as a Todd legacy. Aunt Marie gave it to Patricia Todd when she married.
He was a teacher at the University of Washington.
The Lives He Touched
Milton Todd can look back on a useful life. He has been teaching school 56 years and he is 81. We remember most of our school teachers. They make impressions that never wear out. It is a big responsibility that Milton Todd of Spokane, Wash., has been carrying all these years. He has touched the lives, helped to form the characters of thousands. Veteran Educator Dies
San Diego, Cal., Jan. 14. � Milton Todd, 90, who taught school in Illinois and Kansas before becoming superintendent of the Hilyard, Wash., high school before the World war, died here yesterday. Aged Educator Taken By Death
Milton Todd, 90, superintendent of Hillyard schools from 1904 to 1909 and first principal of the old Hillyard high school, died today in San Diego, Cal., the Associated Press reports. He was one of the oldest teachers in the country in point of service. Burial will be in Warrensburg, Mo., where his daughter, Miss C. [A.] Marie Todd, is on the faculty of Missouri State Teachers college. He also had one son, Paul Todd. After leaving Spokane Mr. Todd lived in Coeur d�Alene for a time. James A. Burke, county superintendent of schools, recalled that Mr. Todd for a time was on a farm and that Miss Todd was training as a teacher at Cheney Normal when he, Mr. Burke, was there. Before coming to Hillyard Mr. Todd taught in Illinois and Kansas. [Washington State, January 1937]
