Prayer service for Florence Ann Ottis will be 7 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity. Rev. Philip Louis and Deacon Max Schwarz will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. Mrs. Ottis was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Okarche. She died Nov. 9, 2006, at Victorian Estates in Yukon. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School. A homemaker, she was a member of Holy Trinity Church and Altar Society. She married James M. Ottis on Dec. 30, 1941. They made their home in West Columbia, Texas, from 1941 until 1949 when they returned to Okarche. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Rose (Baustert) Brueggen, three brothers and a sister. Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Meyer and husband, Gerald, of Calumet, Vicki Hoebing and husband, Paul, of Okarche and Kathy Ottis of Yukon; a sister, Alice Panter of Norman; three grandchildren, Jamie Perkins and husband, Tim, Jerry Meyer, Randy Meyer and wife, Robin; and four great-grandchildren. Note: Mrs. Cornelson Funeral Held
Mrs. William (Tillie) Cornelson of Schulenburg passed away on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Colonial Nursing Home here following a long illness. She reached the age of 96 years, 11 months, 6 days. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, with Rev. Walter Simpson officiating. Interment was in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Wagner, Bill Cornelson, E. J. Chromcak, Tommy Chromcak, John Dillard and Herbert Lehman. Honorary pallbearers included Gus Balzer, Larry Cornelson, Johnnie Tumis, E. W. Kasper, J. J. Bucek and Fritz Prilop. The daughter of the late Christian and Fredericka Bruegman, she was born on Nov. 15, 1884 in Swiss Alp. She married William Cornelson on Dec. 27, 1908 in Schulenburg. A life-long resident of this area, she was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ and 60-year member of Lodge 14 of the Order of the Sons of Hermann. She is survived by a daughter, Cora Wagner of Schulenburg; a sister, Mollie Hodanek of Flatonia; a grandson, Mike Wagner of Lake Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Sean Wagner, Tricia Wagner and Jeffrey Wagner, all of Lake Jackson.
