Funeral services for Mr. Lee Kirk Carr, 62, of Bay Citywill be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Bay City with the Rev. LeRoy Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mr. Carr was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Bay City and died Aug. 14, 1984 in Matagorda General Hospital. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bay City. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2438, the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, the Thunderbolt Association and the 82nd Fighter Group Association. He is survived by his wife, Lilly R. Carr of Bay City. Other survivors include: four sons, Joe Lawhon, Lee Kirk Carr II, Michael Ray Carr and Sidney Louis Carr, all of Bay City; and five grandchildren, Scott and Matt Lawhon and Ryan, Laura and Philip Louis Carr, all of Bay City. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2438. Pallbearers will be Ed Crimmins, Frank Craft, Lester Wells, Sherwood Richers, W. E. Frazier and Gordon Lee Shaffer. In lieu of the usual contributions, donations may be made to the American Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services for Sidney Louis Carr, 29, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Sonnier officiating. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck. A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. today at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Carr was the youngest son of Lilly Carr and the late Lee Carr. He died Aug. 26, 1987, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He graduated from Bay City High School in 1976. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Platt Carr of Bay City; two children, Phillip Louis and Ashley Anne Carr of Bay City; his mother, Lilly Richers Carr of Bay City; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Patsy Lawhon, Kirk and Julie Carr, all of Bay City, and Mike and Eleene Carr of Bryan; four nephews, Matt and Scott Lawhon, Nathan Kemp and Ryan Carr; three nieces, Laura Carr and Becky and Beth Bridges; an aunt, Phyllis Carr, and a cousin, Vicky Carr Rohan. Pallbearers include Roy Dean Evans, Peter Allen Green, Dee Clements, William Frazier, Sherwood Richers and Gary Marshall. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.
